The pastor thought for a moment, then asked the couple to name their favorite hymn.

— Jeremiah 33:6 A pastor friend told the story of a couple who had come to him for counseling.

The couple had been married 40 or so years, and they were both plagued with guilt.

“A while ago, “making love” meant something totally different.

It meant two people eating ice cream together, or drinking a soft drink and chatting with each other. they ask me out, i’ll point them in the direction of my parents.

Some thing i learned in my devotions today: Ive been doing several things for my devotions.

One of the things in today’s devotions was that Over the years, TV, songs, and Ect Make love look much different then what it is.Having only been at our current church for 18 months I still feel there are many people I don’t know. There are some that I connected to better than others but I felt there was only so much I was able to get to know people within a Sunday service. Living in Victoria is always a bit of a gamble when it comes to the weather.Even when it’s Spring time you can be looking for the suntan lotion one week and then digging out the thermals the next week! I love going to the theatre and my friend and I have committed to going to a play each year to celebrate our birthdays. The other week I actually considered lighting our open fire. We must be honest with ourselves, with the Lord and with each other about memories or habits or activities that may be eroding our relationship and then deal with them.Your connections give your life purpose, meaning, and identity. If you grew up with dysfunctional relationships, then you question your purpose and struggle with identity. Study after study shows that our identity is largely determined by what we think the most important people in our lives think of us.Jesus said that the most important thing we should do is love God and love other people (Mark -31). Adam and Eve had the first broken relationship and disconnected themselves from God and from each other. That’s why you should make sure that Jesus is the most important person in your life, because he will love you unconditionally.Life is not about your accomplishments or acquisitions, your popularity or prestige. There are three problems that keep us from loving fully as God intended: 1. There are no perfect relationships because there are no perfect people. We’ve been excusing ourselves and accusing the people we love ever since. The more disconnected we are, the more fearful we become. We all have different connections: some healthy, some broken, some non-existent.
